This phone works just like a regular phone would.. It's loud and clear and feels good. I just orderd the wireless one as well and I hope it's just as good if better then this one.

I use this handset with a Pantech Breeze II cell phone, not an Apple iPhone. With my Pantech Breeze II, this phone produces very poor output sound from its microphone (mouthpiece); the earphone (earpiece), however, is very good and loud. Generally I was quite disappointed with it because of the poor output sound. I can't use it very much because I'm told that when I'm using the handset it is hard to understand what I am saying. Phone has nice look and feel. Volume feature doesn't seem to work with my cell phone. Lately I've noticed that this handset seems to pick up radio interference noise pretty easily and this may have something to do with the poor output sound from the mic (although I think it's just a bad mic or bad mic design). Last comment I got was that it sounded as if I were calling on an Army "field phone!" I've tried listening to my own voice over the handset by recording in on voice mail, and I sound very harsh through the handset mic with poor frequency response. A better mic/mic design would make this a much better handset.

personally although the price was cheap my boyfriend didn't have the thing long...you could barely hear anything out of the thing after almost 2 weeks of usage.
