The mystery of the genuine or fake Native Union phone

I bought the black metallic version of this POP phone via this link on Amazon. On the description page it lists 'Native Union Ltd.' as the seller, however on checkout it says 'Insane In the Brain -- The BEST DEALS on the Web! Storefront'. I also noticed that on selecting the black metallic phone/picture on this page, it now comes up with another seller, which, incidentally, also has changed twice since I wrote this review. As far as I understand it, on the inside of the genuine Native Union phones there is a stamped 'CE mark', it apparently also comes with a manual with an option to register the 'phone', this particular product came without all this. On reading more on the Native union website, it seems to me the particular phone I was sent is likely to be a counterfeit product, despite it saying Native Union on the box. It might be that the seller, Insane in the brain, or other amazon resellers, are not aware of this being a counterfeit product, and it would behoove Amazon to make clearer on their listings if this is sold directly by Amazon, as a genuine product, or it is is sold by a reseller and therefore might not be a genuine product, and update those seller pages or remove them from this particular sales page, which as far as I understand it, is advertising the genuine phone, and monitor this. I also think that the other colors, the first few of the ones you can select in the 'pictures' could well be the genuine product, and that therefore there are so many contradictory reviews on the review page for this particular phone. I think the genuine Native union phone is probably a fabulous product, will post more on this once I receive 'the real thing'. If it turns out that what I bought via Amazon is not a counterfeit product, I will remove or update this review. I am returning this to Amazon and will buy one directly via Native Union, who, according to their customer service website, will give a discount for me posting the review below:Do not buy from this seller - I have received a Fake Moshi Moshi POP phone from them - It does not work and there is no customer service to help - I have wasted my money - Native Union has kindly given me a discount on a genuine product which works perfectly - Buy directly from NativeUnion.com to guarantee you get the same high quality product.

Why didn't I think of this?

As long as the handset is an actual NATIVE UNION set you will not be disappointed. I got this and immediately put it to work (while driving I might add). At home, you can charge your phone, and yap away without the heat bugging you, or accidentally hitting any buttons. Native Union offers a ton of colors, however, the Desert is so amazing, as I'm in the Army. I know someone who walks around with this set in her purse, and she'll stroll down the street yapping away, getting confused looks from others. This thing ROCKS, dont skimp out and get the cheap one, just get the real thing here, or on the Native Union website (and they ship it for free). Change that ring tone to an old school telephone ring, and wha-la, your yapping away like back in the day.

Works as good as it looks

I always missed the solid, reliable look of an old-fashioned phone, the full size receiver, comfortable to hold and also rugged.This retro POP works the way I was hoping it would. My callers tell me that the sound is clear, no static, and it sounds like the sound from a land line phone. The coiled cord is long enough to put the cell unit in your shirt or pants pocket while you talk holding the receiver. Just remember not to use this phone while the cell unit is on a shelf or window sill. The strong movement of the coil of the POP phone may knock your cell phone down. Just keep the cell in your pocket.
