-You can either press the calling/hang-up button from your phone or use the calling/hang-up button on the handset. But the calling/hang-up button on the handset only works if the 3.5mm jack of your smart phone is flat.It will not work if your smartphone has a bevel(angled)jack.

-Please try both 3.5mm connectors for the best results.

This is a simple but unusual alternative to using your smart phone for phone calls. Evidently it does eliminate any harmful radiation from your iPhone. Radiation is an ongoing controversy among doctors.Your Smart Phone simply lays flat on the non-slip surface and is plugged into the dock by one of two auxiliary plugs. Press the number of the person you want to dial and you can have a conversation through the handset or through the dock speaker. It's that simple. To hang up, press the white dot on the handle. If you place the handset down, the speaker turns on for hands free talking. Nothing is connected to an electrical source.You can however, hook the dock to your computer via a proprietary USB cord that is included. There are also four USB plugs on the side of the phone and you can never have enough of these around.I did not personally care for the old-fashioned design, but that's simply a matter of taste. I prefer a handset without a cord. The color combination is rather simple, but maybe that's the point. I did find that no matter what I did, the volume was low. If you have extra space on your desk and enjoy a unique gimmick, you may enjoy this. It's not overpriced. Device generously supplied by manufacturer for an honest review.

This item doesn't really serve a purpose of solving some kind of problem that we may be having in the world today. It actually took me a while to figure out how to use it. I was too dumb to look at the instructions to see how easy it was to hook up. Anyways, the item itself actually works as a USB hub which I was surprised to find out. You can hook this up to your PC and it works just fine as a hub. I didn't realize that it even had that function.I hooked this up to my Samsung Note 2 and used the AUX cord at the bottom of the phone. It works fine. You basically use the phone as if it was a headset. The sound quality is perfect. I like that there is no echo or ridiculous background sound. In fact, it feels more clear than an actual headset or bluetooth.When you hook up the cell phone to this retro kit, don't expect it to do anything extra. You still use the phone as if it was a phone. You just have a handset instead of a headset. There is a button on the handset that I still can't really figure out. I hit it and it just makes my phone's volume beep but doesn't do anything else.It's a funny device and I think it's a great gift to give rather than receive. I just had to mark it down a star because of the functionality of it. I received this item for an honest review.
